Life situations can cause hurts to go into the very fiber of our being sometimes. Some of those hurts can be defined as traumas. Whether the trauma is sexual assault, physical or emotional abuse, EMDR may help the past become the past. EMDR is a technique of therapy which has been proven to be effective in resolving life’s hurts. EMDR is also useful to resolve pain a person may not define as a trauma– Pain remaining from an encounter in the past, leaving behind emotional scar tissue. I can help you move beyond the traumas you may have experienced, as well as the pain of the past you are not able to move beyond. I am Level II Trained in EMDR and have found this technique to be a powerful tool for clients.
As the EMDR Institute website says, “EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a psychotherapy that enables people to heal from the symptoms and emotional distress that are the result of disturbing life experiences. Repeated studies show that by using EMDR people can experience the benefits of psychotherapy that once took years to make a difference.”
Call for an initial consultation to determine if you are a candidate for EMDR and whether I am the therapist that is the right fit for you.
